Snowshoeing Lake Louise … an epic winter experience!

Your winter adventure begins with a scenic drive along Bow Valley Parkway to Lake Louise. Watch closely, often you can spot wildlife along the way.

At Lake Louise, your guide will assist you in putting on your snowshoes and help you to get going. When everyone is ready, you’ll head out on a beginner level guided snowshoe along trails through the tranquil woods. The tour will finish on the famous lake with spectacular views of the mountains surrounding Chateau Lake Louise and a tasty Canadian maple treat.

This is a beginner snowshoe experience and a great way to try snowshoeing for the first time. No previous snowshoeing experience is required.

  • Drive down the Bow Valley Parkway, the scenic highway to Lake Louise.

Season:  December - April tours daily 1:30pm

Duration: 4-hours with approximately 1 hour 45 minutes at Lake Louise (45 minutes to an hour of snowshoeing)

Need to know:

  • Minimum age for participation is 8 years.
  • All children 15 years and under must be accompanied by a person 18 years and older.
  • All adults must sign a waiver prior to the tour. A waiver must also be completed by the parent or guardian of any child under the age of 18.
  • Please be prepared for mountain weather. Dress in full ski wear including a winter jacket, thermals, a sweater, snow pants, a hat, winter boots, and gloves.
  • Pick up and drop off can be made from most hotels in Banff.
  • Small group size.
