All you need is a phone and a group of family or friends who want to have some exploration fun! These Richmond Clue Solving Adventures blend the fun of a scavenger hunt, the thrill of racing against the clock, with the clue-solving challenge of an escape room.

Guided by your smart phone, you and your friends will discover hidden gems and new pathways around Richmond, BC as you follow a trail of clues and solve puzzles.

These adventures are great for families, friends, and groups. Whether you choose to race or enjoy the experience at a leisurely pace as you tour Richmond is entirely up to you!

Two exciting Richmond clue solving adventures:

1. People and Places

Explore the parks and shops of Downtown Richmond on this fast-paced clue-solving adventure.
Funds designated to launch a major new cultural program in the city of Richmond have been stolen. The RCMP needs your help to recover the funds and solve the case! Do you and your team have what it takes to save the day?

• Start location:  Downtown Richmond, British Columbia

• Start time: A section of this adventure takes place inside CF Richmond Centre Mall. It is recommended playing between during Mall hours.

• Walking distance:  2.9 km with mostly flat walking on paved trails with a section of this adventure taking place inside CF Richmond Centre mall.

• Average time to complete: 1.5 to 2 hours 
  

• Level of difficulty: This adventure is family friendly. We recommend playing with adults as the clues can be quite challenging.
  
  
• What you need: At least one fully charged cellphone per team (we advise 2+). Dress for the weather and wear footwear suitable for walking around town.
  
  
• Highlights:  Local history, Minoru Park, CF Richmond Mall

2. Flights of Fashion

Explore McArthurGlen Designer Outlet and Vancouver Airport in a whole new way!
It appears an internationally renowned fashion designer is set to launch a highly sophisticated new clothing brand. They are trying to find a location worthy of the launch. But to win the deal you and your team will need to successfully solve a series of clues.

• Start location:  McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport

• Start time: During public open hours for the airport - we recommend playing between 8am and 8pm.

• Walking distance:  Approximately 2.5km on flat indoor and outdoor pathways. Elevators and escalators available in places where there are stairs.

• Average time to complete: 2-hours 
  

• Level of difficulty: The game is family and pet friendly.
  
  
• What you need:  At least one fully charged cellphone per team (we advise 2+). Dress for the weather and wear footwear suitable for walking around town.
  
  
• Highlights: Outlet Mall, Great Artwork

How it works:

• Activate your experience on Breakaway Experiences’ website, in your My Account.
• Follow the instructions in your certificate and register your adventure.
• Select your start date with the tour provider.
• You will then receive an email with the game instructions and the access code.
• Download the free APP and use the access code to activate your adventure.
• When you begin playing, you’ll receive a series of clues on the free APP. Each clue will guide you to the next location where you will find a hidden word or you'll solve a puzzle.
• Along the way, you'll visit local icons, experience stunning scenery and uncover hidden places.
• Clues are sequential and written assuming you have no knowledge of Richmond, BC.
• Submit the correct answer and you will immediately get the next clue.
• Don’t worry, hints and directions are available, but they’ll cost you a time penalty.
• Decipher all the clues and solve the mystery!

• The game is most fun when working with other people to find and solve clues. Suggested team size is 2 - 5 players.
• You are not required to buy anything, however there are many opportunities for shopping and dining if you wish.
• Please make sure that your cellphone is charged before you start. Additional phones can be added at no extra cost.
• You are only required to use the phone for the App. Data plans are only used to activate the adventure and are not used during play. During the game you only need Wi-Fi or data to synchronize with additional phones in your group.
• Bringing a phone charger is a good idea if your battery is weak.
