The Nelson Clue Solving Adventure combines the excitement of a scavenger hunt, the challenge of an escape room and the rush of an adventure race. Your tour route includes many stops at historic, cultural or quirky Nelson landmarks, all with unique challenges and clues to decipher.

With your smartphone as your guide, you and your team will work together to decipher a series of clues to solve a mystery. You can race against the clock or meander through town and enjoy the experience at your own pace.

This adventure is a great experience for friends, families, and groups.

Your Nelson clue solving adventure: Great Train Robbery

Explore Nelson’s history, artwork, shops and viewpoints as you attempt to stop a robbery on the CPR.
You have learned that there is going to be a robbery on the CPR later today. A train carrying local natural resources is about to be hijacked! Do you and your team have what it takes to solve the clues and stop the heist?

• Start location:  Downtown Nelson, British Columbia

• Start time: Start any day any time. Play at a day / time that works best for you.

• Walking distance: Approximately 2.5 kms outdoors on town streets and trails, with steep hills. Not wheelchair accessible.

• Average time to complete: 2-hours with optional game breaks (several shops, pubs and restaurants on the route).

• Level of difficulty: This game is suitable for children and pet friendly; however, the clues can be quite challenging. We recommend playing with adults.
  
  
• What you need: At least one fully charged cellphone per team (we advise 2+). Dress for the weather and wear footwear suitable for walking around town.

How it works:

• Activate your experience on Breakaway Experiences’ website, in your My Account.
• Follow the instructions in your certificate and register your adventure.
• Select your start date with the tour provider.
• You will then receive an email with the game instructions and the access code.
• Download the free APP and use the access code to activate your adventure.
• When you begin playing, you’ll receive a series of clues on the free APP. Each clue will guide you to the next location where you'll solve a puzzle or find a hidden word.
• Along the way, you'll visit local icons, experience stunning scenery and uncover hidden places.
• Clues are sequential and written assuming you have no knowledge of Nelson.
• Submit the correct answer and you will immediately get the next clue.
• Don’t worry, hints and directions are available, but they’ll cost you a time penalty.
• Decipher all the clues and solve the final mystery!

• Suggested team size is 2 - 5 players. The game is most fun when working with other people to find and solve clues.
• You are not required to buy anything, however there are many opportunities for shopping and dining if you wish.
• Please make sure that your cellphone is charged before you start. Additional phones can be added at no extra cost.
• You are only required to use the phone for the App - no internet browsing or photos. Data plans are only used to activate the adventure and are not used during play. During the game you only need Wi-Fi or data to synchronize with additional phones in your group.
• Bringing a phone charger is a good idea if your battery is weak. You may charge your phone by speaking to the businesses during your scheduled breaks.
