Follow a trail of clues and puzzles on a 3km walk around downtown Kelowna, all set to a fun storyline. Guided by your smart phone, you and your friends / family will discover hidden gems and new pathways as you solve puzzles and uncover a trail of clues that lead you around downtown Kelowna.
This adventure is great for families, friends, and groups. Play Any Time. You can take as long as you want. Should you choose to race against the clock or enjoy the experience at a leisurely pace as you tour Kelowna is entirely up to you!

Your Kelowna Clue Solving adventure: The Phantom of the Lakeshore
A Scooby-Doo-style mystery on the shores on Okanagan Lake, right in downtown Kelowna. A spectral figure that has cast a chilling shadow over Okanagan Lake for months? Can you solve the mystery of the ‘Phantom of the Lakeshore’?
• Start location: Downtown Kelowna, British Columbia VIEW MAP
• Start time: Start any day any time but we recommend playing in daylight.
• Walking distance: Approximately 3km with flat walking on city trails and pathways.
• Average time to complete: 90 to 100 minutes
• Challenge level: Moderate / Challenging. A good test of your brainpower.
• Children: Family and pet friendly. Some clue can be quite challenging and we recommend playing with adults.
• What you need: You will need at least one fully charged cellphone per team (we advise 2+). Wear footwear suitable for walking around town and dress for the weather.
How it works:
- Activate your experience in your Breakaway Experiences’ My Account.
- Open your activated experience certificate and follow the instructions.
- Once you’ve registered your adventure and picked your start date with the game provider, you’ll receive an email with the instructions and the access code.
- Download the free APP onto your smartphone and use the access code to activate your adventure on the APP.
- You’ll receive a series of clues on the APP. Each clue will guide you to the next location where you'll solve a clue or a puzzle.
- Along the way, you'll uncover hidden places, visit local icons, and discover cool places in Kelowna.
- Clues are sequential and written with the assumption you have no knowledge of the town.
- Submit the correct answer and you will immediately receive the next clue. Not to worry, hints and directions will be available … but they will cost you a time penalty!
- Solve all the clues and you solve the mystery!
- The game is most fun when working with other people to find and solve clues. The suggested team size is between 2 to 5 players.
Need to know:
- You are not required to buy anything along the route.
- You are only required to use the phone for the App. Data plans are only used to activate the adventure and are not used during play.
- Additional phones may be added at no extra cost.
- Please ensure that your phone is charged before you begin. Bringing a phone charger is a good idea if your battery is low or weak.
