Light the Night Kayak Tour in Vancouver

Enjoy breathtaking views over the city’s famous skyline as the sun sinks below the horizon and watch as the sky explodes in color. After sunset, following your expert guide, you’ll paddle into English Bay as your LED lights illuminate the water. A truly unique experience!

Once you arrive on Granville Island your guide will set up with your kayak.  After some instruction and getting comfortable with your kayak, you’re on the water and head out. You will follow your guide to the perfect place to watch the sun set.  Your kayak is outfitted with LED for optimal nighttime viewing.  As you light up, you’ll continue along the coastline, exploring False Creek and English Bay, revelling in the downtown skyline set against the dark background of the night sky.   After this peaceful paddle you’ll make your way back to Granville Island.

Designed for beginner kayakers, no previous paddling skills are required. Your guide will give you a detailed safety speech and information about how to paddle, where to paddle and answer any questions you may have.

The kayaks come in two basic styles: Sit-inside kayaks and Sit-on-top kayaks. (both are available as singles or doubles*) Sit-on-tops are a great choice for new or nervous paddlers as they are stable, easy to get in and out of and there is no feeling of confinement. Whether you choose a single kayak or a double*, the touring kayaks offer superb stability, comfortable back support, and have plenty of room to stow and strap your gear.

• If you would like to kayak alone, you must be an experienced kayaker and be able to demonstrate a successful solo rescue.
• Minimum height requirement is 4 feet.
• Minimum age is 10 years old.
• Paddlers under the age of 16 must be in the front cockpit of a double kayak with someone who is at least 19 years of age in the back.
• You must be able to swim on your own.
• Children under the age of 16 are required to have adult supervision.
• This experience requires good weather. If it’s cancelled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
• This experience requires a minimum number of travellers. If it’s cancelled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.
• Tour guide gratuities are not included, optional and always appreciated.
