Fire Building – Survival Workshop, Niagara

Learn the ancient art of making fire!

This wilderness survival workshop is designed to teach some basic skills in bush survival. With some knowledge plus a little confidence you can survive almost anywhere!

This two-hour, hands-on workshop includes the basics of: 

• Rule of 3's for survival - air, water, food
• How to use a knife safely
• Gathering natural tinder
• Ferrod rod use
• Understanding natural tinder

Throughout the class you will have the opportunity to practice the skills you learn.

When:   Available year-round every second Sunday

Duration:   2-hours

Need to know:

• No previous experience is required. 
• This course deals with axes, knives, and abstract learning concepts. This course is not suitable for children under 12 years old.
• The course does not include Bow Drill instruction or shelter building.
• The course only operates when the temperature is +35C to -10C If the temperature is outside this range, it may need to be rescheduled.
• Please wear multiple layers in cold weather.
