Sea Kayaking Lesson, Halifax

Learn to Sea Kayak with a Half Day Lesson.

Spend 4 hours learning to kayak in a sheltered cove on the Lower Prospect peninsula, a short drive from Halifax. Just about anyone can learn to paddle a kayak after a short orientation and have a great time.

This half day kayaking lesson is an introduction to kayaking with an emphasis on safe paddling practice. Skills include: wet exit, assisted re-entry, introduction to forward and turning strokes. All of the instructors have completed the ECO guide training program and are certified by Paddle Canada.

Season: May - October

Need to Know:

• No experience necessary.

• Please bring sunscreen, hat, extra fleece/windbreaker, water, sunglasses with strap and shoes that can get wet.  For clothing, avoid cotton and wear quick-dry material, yoga clothes, fleece, etc.
• Maximum weight per kayak is 300lbs.
• Children can join their parents in a double kayak and require their own certificate purchase.
