Canadian Rockies Ice Bubbles Helicopter and Snowshoe Tour

Abraham Lake’s famous frozen bubbles – a uniquely Canadian winter adventure.

This unforgettable winter experience is centred around the incredible natural phenomenon on Abraham Lake, where methane gas bubbles from plant life freezes at various depths under the lake surface creating a breathtaking landscape of frozen bubbles.

Deep in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, you’ll lift off and soar at an exciting 100mph, to 2900m (9000ft) over Cline Pass for spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains. You’ll fly over the 6 Glaciers: Cline Glacier, White Goat Glacier, Lion Glacier, Lioness Glacier, Resolute Glacier, and Hanging Glacier.

From the glaciers, you’ll fly to Michelle Lakes and follow Waterfalls Creek back to the Cline River Valley. As your helicopter rounds Purple Mountain, you’ll have an incredible view of Abraham Lake.  Along the way you’ll stop for a 1-hour guided wilderness snowshoe tour. You’ll then return to the Heli-base for a hot lunch before heading to Abraham Lake to view the bubbles for approximately an hour. • 20, 30, or 55-minute helicopter flight
• 1-hour guided snowshoe tour (snowshoes provided)

• Located 25 minutes from the famous Columbia Icefields between Jasper and Banff.  VIEW MAP
• If you are driving from Lake Louise, the heliport is approximately 1.5 hours North.
• If you are driving from Jasper, the heliport is approximately 2.5 hours South.
