This Winter Driving School welcomes drivers of all experience levels to build skill and confidence behind the wheel. Through multiple classroom sessions with a professional instructor coupled with hands-on exercises in your own vehicle, you'll discover the real-world benefits of improved car control and better understand the limitations of your vehicle in a low-friction environment, critical techniques for driving in Canadian winter conditions.

You'll leave with sharper skills, greater confidence, and a complete understanding of what both you and your vehicle are truly capable of in winter driving conditions.

What you learn:

Half Day Winter Driving School:

  • 8:30 am to 12:00 pm
  • Start with a more in-depth classroom session, then complete three core on-track drills.
  • Enhance your driving skills, increase your awareness of safety techniques, gain a better understanding of your personal vehicle's dynamics and have fun.

Full-Day Winter Driving School:

  • 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.
  • A continuation of the Half-Day course with more advanced exercises.
  • Your day will be a mix of classroom theory with real-life practice in your car on the track covering:
    • Vehicle Control: Proper driver positioning for maximum control and mirror adjustment for optimal visibility.
    • Situational Awareness: Vision training to enhance your traffic awareness and anticipation skills.
    • Vehicle Systems: Understanding modern safety features like ABS braking systems, plus expert tire recommendations and winter maintenance essentials.

Need to know:

  • All participants must hold a current provincial or state driver’s license - G1 Driver's License or above.
  • Minimum age for participation is 17 years of age. Under the age of 18, you must complete a parental consent form at the track.
  • If you have any known health problems or personal concerns with respect to experiencing jarring, bouncing on snow covered surface, it is recommended that you seek professional medical advice prior to attending the course.
