Experience an epic 4 X 4 adventure with breathtaking views over glacial lakes, rolling rivers, soaring peaks, plunging valleys, and rocky shorelines of Whistler’s mighty backcountry.
Your adventure begins with your guide setting you up with a full-face helmet, goggle, and waterproof gear if required. They will then go through how to use the machines, safety protocols, and to do – not do while on the trails.
No previous experience necessary.
And then you are off on the trails… your skillful guide will lead through Cougar Mountain trails. You’ll splash through creeks and power your side-by-side over rugged west coast terrain, while watching for wildlife and some the most spectacular views in the Sea to Sky region.
What’s a Side-by-Side?
Side-by-Side’s are highly capable all terrain 4×4 motorized vehicles designed to take on the backcountry with awesome suspension and are a blast to drive.
Choose the off-road course to suit your skill level and experience:
- Wilderness Tour – Beginner Friendly - a 2 hour tour including training and ride time.
This tour will have you grinning from ear to ear as you explore the wilds of Whistler’s backcountry.
- Backcountry Tour – Intermediate Only – a 2.5-hour tour including training and ride time.
This Side-by-Side Off-road tour is designed for guests with previous off-road or side-by-side experience. Your guide will take you through a more challenging terrain and maintain a steady pace to maximize the thrill, keeping the ride smooth and exciting for everyone. You'll grind through boulder-filled climbs, splashing across creeks, and reach epic viewpoints with jaw-dropping scenery. It’s fast-paced, full-throttle, and seriously fun. This is what off-road was made for!
The RZRs are all equipped with automatic transmissions. Your guide will provide a tutorial to make sure everyone is confident before hitting the trails. Compared to an ATV, the Side-by-Side's offer more control and are easier to learn with a steering wheel and foot pedals for gas and brakes. With side-by-side bucket seats, full seat belts, and a roll cage they offer much greater comfort and safety.

Need to know:
- Drivers must be a minimum of 16 years, possess a valid Learner's or Full Driver’s License (Learner permit are not allowed).
- Children must be a minimum of 6 years old, 4ft. tall, and fit an extra, extra (XXS) small helmet.
- Ages 8-15 require a 19+ parent or guardian participating in the activity.
- All tours are fully guided by professionally trained guides. 1 guide per 5 machines.
- All participants are required to sign a legal release of liability waiver.
- Tours run rain or shine.
- No open-toed shoes or sandals.
