This two-hour easy forest walking trip with an expert myco-guide through B.C.’s forest is focused on how to identify wild mushrooms like porcini, chanterelle, wild oysters, lobster mushrooms and more. Learn from an expert. This experience is fun for all ages.
The tour location shifts depending on the season from the North Shore to lower elevation sites within a 40-minute drive from Vancouver. Usually, the foraging starts in higher elevations in September & October on the North Shore and moves to lower elevations in November and December.
Hunt for edible and wild mushrooms in Vancouver, BC!
It is illegal to harvest in all parks in BC, but your expert guide will teach you where you can legally pick and how to find you’re own mushroom patches. While this is not a live cooking class or a harvesting trip, the class will study edible mushrooms in their habitat and discuss ethical and sustainable harvesting.

Need to know:
- Minimum age for participation is 5 years.
- Walking is done mainly on gravel paths with some uneven surfaces. Depending on the final location of the tour, off path wandering may be permitted.
- This tour is suitable for grandparents and children.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Please note this is an identification only trip (no harvesting).
