Step back in time to a bygone era of flying with a scenic biplane flight!
Hold on to your hats as you prepare for the ride of your life! Your exciting aerial adventure begins when you meet your experienced Pilot at Wetaskiwin Regional Airport. You will head out onto the tarmac and hop into the open cockpit aircraft. Once strapped in, the Pilot will start the engine and taxi down the runway. After take-off, you will enjoy spectacular views of Wetaskiwin and the Alberta countryside.
Arguably one of the most recognizable training aircraft of all time, the Boeing Stearman was a primary trainer mainly used by the various branches of the US military during WWII, though this aircraft did see limited use in southern Alberta with the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan (BCATP) as well. This aircraft has been flying regularly in central Alberta since the early 80s and has taken hundreds of people flying since then!
Try your hand at flying a biplane with the ‘You Fly It” experience. Your pilot will handle the takeoff and landing. You can take the controls for the cruise portion of the flight. The aircraft is equipped with 2-way communication, so your pilot will be able to guide you along as you take control of the (in)famous Stearman!
