Climb ladders, cross suspension bridges and be awed by the grandeur of the mountain vistas that surround you!

Overlooking the town of Banff, Mount Norquay’s Via Ferrata lets you scale a mountain, with zero mountaineering experience needed. Via Ferrata, an assisted climbing experience, is a mix between hiking and climbing while you are secured to a steel cable system next to the route.

No previous experience is necessary!

Led by a highly experienced ACMG-certified guide, you’ll wear a harness that is always secured to the mountain’s steel cable pathway. This experience is designed to accommodate beginners looking for a little adventure while experiencing the beauty of Banff National Park, as well as for those who already have a little climbing experience. The only thing you need is a sense of adventure and a head for heights.

What is Via Ferrata? Via Ferrata is a trail or route‐making method used in the mountains to make passage more secure and easier. Steel steps, ladder rungs, handles, and a steel cable are installed in places where the trail steepens. Travellers are secured to the rock by wearing a harness that is always attached to the steel cable.
