Paradise in BC Backcountry - land in a seaplane on an alpine lake and walk the beach under a glacier after a refreshing swim.
After flying through the Coast Mountains, you’ll land on the rich turquoise waters of Phantom Lake at the base of Mt. Jimmy Jimmy glacier. Your pilot will taxi you to the shore where you can enjoy taking photos, swimming, or just relaxing in solitude. Bring your own picnic for a little tasty treat or a memorable alpine lunch. This tour is one of the most amazing things to do in Squamish in summer.
Throughout the tour, listen as your pilot sheds light on the fascinating landscape below. They love sharing what they know about the region’s legendary geology and history. Every seat is outfitted with a two-way headset / microphone and no matter where you are in the plane you're guaranteed a spectacular view. You can get a nearly 360º view, and everyone gets a window!
On the way there (and back) you’ll fly shoulder-to-shoulder with million-year-old peaks, over ancient valleys, and through a landscape worthy of a National Geographic documentary.
Phantom Lake: Suspended above a waterfall at 4000ft, Phantom Lake is an almost unbelievable sight, a dazzling, emerald green hanging lake overlooked by the impressive Mt Tzoonie, Mt Jimmy Jimmy and glaciers. At one end water feeds into the lake from the nearby glaciers of Tzoonie Mountain and Mt Jimmy Jimmy, while at the other it escapes via a towering cascading waterfall. This sheltered wild haven has a soft sandy beach at the north end and can only be accessed by seaplane.
This tour covers over 150 square kilometers, and flies over 4500 feet above sea level.
