Enjoy the incredible sights and sounds of a Rocky Mountains landscape after the sun has gone down.
Your winter stargazing adventure begins when you meet your guide in Kananaskis Village and get fitted with snowshoes and a headlamp.
Your tour leaves from Kananaskis Village. A long the way, your guide will provide you with some interesting information about the surrounding forest and native wildlife.
Once you reach the open meadow by the river, you can relax, take in the night sky and enjoy cookies and hot chocolate while your guide sets up the telescope.
You are welcome to bring a camera and tripod to try some astrophotography or you can just hang out with the group, look through the telescope and chat about astronomy. Your guide will point out constellations and tell you interesting facts about the night sky.
This easy hike is perfect for people of all abilities. Snowshoes will be provided should the conditions warrant.

Need to know:
- Minimum age for participation is 12 years.
- The use of snowshoes is dependant upon snow depth. If there is not sufficient snow the tour will involve hiking.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Please dress appropriately for the weather. When reserving your tour day/time the tour operator can provide you with advice on what to wear.
- The tour operates rain, snow, clear skies or overcast. Should the guide deem the conditions unsafe for snowshoeing the tour provider will reschedule the tour for a later date.
