Fredericton Zombie Scavenger Hunt

Discover Fredericton, New Brunswick in a fun way! 

The Zombie Scavenger Hunt dedicated app will provide you with a list of survival items you need to find. You'll explore downtown Fredericton scavenging for much needed supplies like food, bandages, vehicles, and more.

You will have 1-hour to take locate and take pictures of these items. The more you find, the more points you’ll receive to increase your chances of surviving the apocalypse. Complete zombie style challenges and answer trivia questions along the way to be receive even more points.

It won’t be easy! Rival groups are all over Fredericton, and they will take what you collected if you are not careful.

If you are playing in a larger group, you can divide into teams. Play against each other to see who finds all the survival items first! You can put the scavenger hunt app on as many phones as you'd like.

This engaging game puts a new spin on sightseeing and introduces you to places in Fredericton you may not have known about.

How it works:

• Zombie Scavenger Hunt is an interactive app-led scavenger hunt played with your smartphone.
• Registration instructions will be provided to you once you have activated your Breakaway Experiences' certificate.
• When you are ready to play, you’ll register with the experience provider and download the app called "GooseChase" onto your smartphone to play the scavenger hunt.
• You’ll go to your starting location outside downtown Fredericton at Officer's Square Provincial Heritage Place on the day / time you want to play, and follow the directions provided to you in the Zombie Scavenger app.
• You won’t be alone. Your remote host/guide will be monitoring your progress via the App every step of the way. You can chat with them on the App throughout the game to receive hints, tips, and help if you need it.

Duration: 1 hour

When: Zombie Scavenger Hunt customer support hours are Tuesday - Sunday from 9am-5pm year-round. If you want you can play anytime, outside the customer support hours.

Need to know:

• You can have up to 10 people on a team. The optimum group size is between 4 and 6 people.
• You can divide into teams if you are a large group and play against each other to see who finds all the survival items the fastest!
• Nobody will be physically there with you during the game, dressed as Zombies. Everything is done through your smartphone.
• Once you locate an item, all you need to do is take a picture to prove you found it. You do not have to purchase anything during the scavenger hunt.
• To play the game you will need an iOS or Android Smartphone with data plan.
• The game is played all outdoors in public spaces.
• You are not required to purchase anything during the scavenger hunt.
• The experience is wheelchair accessible. It is an open scavenger hunt, where you can explore the city on your own terms. There is no specific route, therefore you don’t have to go anywhere that is not wheelchair accessible, nor will you be asked to find anything that could not be accessible in a wheelchair.
