Segways are a safe, easy, and fun alternative to walking, which makes it an awesome family activity for anyone ages 12 years and up.

Choose from one of two tours of Regina’s beautiful Wascana Centre, each with its own unique character and scenic sites:

Nature Conservation Tour

Tour Wascana Marsh, a federally protected bird sanctuary within Regina’s city limits. Glide through a peaceful nature reserve away from the hustle and bustle of the Wascana Lake crowds to enjoy wildlife and First Nations monuments in natural surroundings. This tour begins and ends at the Saskatchewan Science Centre parking lot.

Distance: 6.6 km
Duration: 90 minutes
When:  7 days per week during the summer season. Times vary in spring and fall.  

Tour highlights include stops at:

  • Waterfowl Display Pond
  • First Nations University of Canada
  • Habitat Conservation Area

 Historic Sites of Wascana Tour

Tour Wascana Lake, the home of Saskatchewan’s provincial government. Experience the diversity of this section of Wascana Centre. You’ll visit historic monuments and learn many ‘fun facts’ that most locals don’t even know! This tour begins and ends at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building.

Distance: 4 km
Duration: 90 minutes

When:  7 days per week during the summer season. Times vary in spring and fall.

Tour highlights include stops at:

  • Saskatchewan Legislative Building
  • Pine Island
  • Albert Street Memorial Bridge

Season: May 01 – September 30

What’s included:

  • 60-minute guided tour.
  • Professional tour guide.
  • One-on-one training on how to operate a Segway.
  • 15-20 minutes practice around a mini-circuit course
  • CSA approved Helmets.
  • Stops at scenic overlooks for photo opportunities, “fun facts” about Wascana Centre and Regina, as well as rest areas.

Need to know:

  • Subject to Availability.
  • Advance Reservations Required.
  • Tours run with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 6 riders at a time.
  • Minimum age for participation is 12 years.
  • All riders between the ages of 12-17 years must have a Liability Waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
  • Minimum weight is 85 lbs (40 kg). Maximum weight is 260 libs (118 kg).
  • What to wear: All you need to bring is a pair of closed toe/flat shoes, weather appropriate clothing, and a camera.
  • Segways are water resistant, so tours will run rain or shine unless conditions are deemed unsafe by the tour guide.
  • You must be physically capable to step on and off the Segway without assistance.
  • It is not recommended that pregnant women participate on a tour.
  • The Segway is a one-person vehicle. Two or more people are not allowed on the device at the same time.
