Learn to capture the wind and control your vessel.
On everyone's 'must do' list, sailing is a beautiful, exciting sport that lets you truly experience your magnificent surroundings. Spend a day experiencing the thrill of learning the basics of sailing and being at one with the waves on Toronto Harbour and the Toronto Islands.
Your full day is spent ON THE WATER. The morning covers wind theory and points of sail then steering and sail trim. Lunch is a gourmet picnic lunch (included) on the island and the afternoon you'll practice the morning lesson and apply emergency situations. By days end you will return to the dock with new found skills and ready for greater nautical challenges.
The aim of this short course is to introduce newcomers to the wonderful sport of sailing in a safe, controlled way. At the end of the day you will be able to sail safely as crew of a sloop rigged keel boat 6-9 meters with an outboard motor in 5 - 20 knots of wind by day.
