Please note: It does require some experience to paddle in the 1000 Islands and venturing off on your own comes with a handful of risks. There are busy boating channels, freighters, cruise ships, strong currents, fast changing weather and 1,864 islands to get lost in. It is recommended you have a certification course before renting equipment for your own self-guided kayaking adventure in the 1000 Islands.
If you do not have a certification course, the half day and full day guided tours will prove very worthwhile with the added safety and detailed knowledge of the river’s vibrant ecology, unique geology and fascinating history.
Whether you're a first-time visitor or a local, there's plenty to see and experience on this 1000 Islands kayaking tour. Be sure to check this off your list of fun things to do in Kingston or Gananoque.
