This horseback riding lesson and trail ride experience is ideal for families, couples, groups, couples, and individuals. It is designed with beginner and novice riders in mind.  This 2-hour experience offers a complete horse education from grooming and ground work to a lesson in our ring with an experienced trainer, topped off with a guided horseback ride on trails along the Ottawa River.

Your adventure begins in the outdoor riding ring learning the basics of walking, turning and stopping along with philosophies around horsemanship, safety and trail riding techniques. You will experience how to go up and down hills and across water and bridges, navigate through logs and safely mount and dismount, under the watchful eye of your instructor.

Your horseback riding experience will include brushing your horse and “saddling-up” for the trail ride, as well as feeding your trusty mount some treats and carrots.

A 70-minute guided trail ride at a gentle pace will feature picturesque landscapes and spectacular views of the Ottawa River.

Along with horseback riding enjoy a buffet lunch at Wilderness Tours Resort (right next door) and spend the rest of the day swimming in their pool, at the beach, in the hot tub or on the volleyball courts.
